For the last eighteen months I have dedicated all my free time and much of my focus to exploring the southern states of Australia by bicycle. Overnight trips grew into multi-day jaunts and then into multi-week.

But the deadlines, the requirement to return to work, put unnatural limits on these journeys. I often felt rushed and I missed chances to explore or to ride with other people.

So I resigned.

I packed my life into a car and drove back to Sydney. In less than two weeks, my life will pack onto a bicycle and travel with me to Patagonia.

I will stand the end of the earth and look north, tens of thousands of kilometers laid out before me.

There are no deadlines and the route is unknown.

In the immortal words of Lawrence Oates  “I am just going outside and may be some time”.

    • Hi Leo! The map is pretty nominal, but I think i will head up the coast of Brazil, then cut back to Iguazú. Thanks – I’ll be in touch when I’m closer!
